CONSULTING SERVICES

KeiP Consulting, LLC offers a variety of services to assist our clients with achieving compliance while minimizing financial, operational, and reputational risks. If your organization has a unique need that is not addressed here, please contact us to determine how we may be of assistance.

AUDITING & FRAUD, WASTE, AND ABUSE DETECTION

Auditing not only assists in determining the effectiveness of processes implemented by an organization, but it also provides transparency and insight into potential risks impacting the organization as well as the detection of fraud, waste, and abuse.

KeiP Consulting assists clients with: fraud, waste, and abuse audits; vendor/delegation audits, post-implementation compliance audits or reviews; developing or restructuring monitoring/quality controls; Corrective Action Plans (CAPs); risk-based annual compliance work plans; and, ad hoc compliance audits.

INTERIM/OUTSOURCED COMPLIANCE OFFICER

Finding an immediate replacement for a Compliance Officer can be a huge challenge for healthcare organizations due to the specialized knowledge and expertise required for that role. Similarly, smaller healthcare organizations understand the importance of being compliant, but may not have the funding to hire a full-time CO.

KeiP Consulting assist clients with a temporary/interim Compliance Officer to ensure minimal disruption to their Compliance program as they diligently work on their recruiting efforts. For smaller healthcare companies that choose to outsource their compliance activities, KeiP Consulting can provide a designated CO to work for a specific timeframe or on a more long-term basis.

COMPLIANCE DUE DILIGENCE REVIEWS FOR MERGERS & ACQUISITIONS

Regardless of the underlying motivation for healthcare organizations to initiate M&A discussions, two key prerequisites for all parties involved is to have a thorough understanding of the regulations impacting the organizations and the compliance risks involved.

KeiP Consulting’s due diligence services include a detailed assessment to gain insight into actual or potential compliance risks of the organization(s) under review, including evaluation of the effectiveness of the organization’s compliance program and adherence to regulatory requirements. These activities prevent costly mistakes post-M&A and ensure organizations have an action plan to address any vulnerabilities identified.

Medicare/Medicaid Compliance project support

Healthcare organizations must continuously improve and expand their services to remain competitive. They must also implement new technologies and processes to comply with regulations that have an industry-wide impact. These factors lead to the initiation of projects that benefit from regulatory input and oversight.

KeiP Consulting offers clients executive level support during a project’s life cycle (initiation, planning, execution, and closure) by ensuring that key regulatory requirements are addressed while also factoring in the client’s unique business model and providing visibility to executive leadership and/or sponsors.

COMPLIANCE PROGRAM EFFECTIVENESS ASSESSMENT

The work performed by the Compliance Function is an integral component of an organization’s risk identification and mitigation strategy. As such, it’s not only important, but recommended, to periodically perform a review of the effectiveness of its activities.

KeiP Consulting’s service offerings include an in-depth review of the Compliance Program incorporating criteria established by the US Sentencing Commission, CMS (if applicable), the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) as well as industry standards.

REGULATORY RESEARCH & FEASIBILITY ANALYSIS

As healthcare organizations continue to evolve, they must identify innovative ways to expand their service offerings. These offerings must be thoroughly vetted against several criteria, such as assessing compliance with applicable Medicare and Medicaid regulations, prior to being launched.

In cases where an organization’s Compliance function may not have the time or the expertise to perform the in-depth research needed by Sales and/or Operational teams, KeiP Consulting can assist with providing information on applicable regulatory requirements to be considered as well as provide the feasibility analysis from a compliance perspective on the applicable risks associated with pursuing a particular decision.
